Is this the true philosophy of the Conservative base?

';Equality becomes anarchy. Unity becomes confusion. Democracy becomes Communism. Reason becomes ignorance. Education becomes elitsm. Fairness becomes corruption, Racisim becomes imaginary';Is this the true philosophy of the Conservative base?
You forgot greed is the answer to everythingIs this the true philosophy of the Conservative base?
The TRUE conservative base is much like the classical liberals.

- Pro personal freedom and liberty.

- Respect for life, and property.

- Anti war, anti interventionism, pro trade and friendship

- Pro privacy

- Anti debt, anti inflation

Keep in mind, the TRUE conservative mindset is nothing like the neocon left or neocon right mindsets we have seen since JFKs assassination.
No.

Try: a government big enough to give you everything is big enough to take it all away from you.

Then read the Second Amendment to the US Constitution.

Actually the entire Bill of Rights is in the Constitution to protect us against the Left.

Looks like we're going to need it more and sooner than we ever thought.
Obama doesn't want equality, he wants to steal from the rich to give to the poor and he absolutely doesn't unite people, he separates them and Democracy isn't in his vocabulary.
The definitive answer to your question is no. I am sure you already knew that, but I needed two points and you wanted to troll. I guess it worked out for both of us.
You should add...

';A true statement if negative, change subject from Conservative to Liberal.';
No it isn't but you certainly nailed down the philosophy of the Democrats.
That's the liberal base.
yes; especially this statement ';Education becomes elitism';
Is this the true philosophy of the liberal base? ';Gibs me uh dallah!';
Nope.

Thanks for 2 points.
Spell-check is your friend - next time use it.
Some liberal ask you to post that??

Think for yourself little one!
Don't think so.
I agree with what you said if it's against obama
Thats about it...lol
Where did you get that from. The Book Of Stupid Lib Ramblings.
We live in a Republic. Study.
All those things are true. It should be the platform, but no one will ever believe they are true. Let me explain.

-Equality becomes anarchy. only way to achieve equality is to have no government. Provided there is a government, those in power will always have more and equality will never be achieved. Just examine Marxist philosophy.

-Democracy becomes Communism. If everyone has an equal vote on every issue, wealth will be distributed to every individual equally. It is human nature that people will vote in their own best interests.

-Unity becomes confusion. To truly unite, you must lose your individuality. And in losing your individuality, you lose direction.

-Reason becomes ignorance. If you are truly set in you own logic, you are less likely to acknowledge other beliefs and in turn become ignorant.

-Education becomes elitism. The education system is set so those with those greatest intellectual abilities have an advantage over others.

-Fairness becomes corruption. To attempt to be fair you must be morally presumptuous. To presume you have such perfect judgement will undoubtedly lead to your own corruption.

-Racism becomes imaginary. In order for racism to be acknowledged it must first be under attack.

-The problem with the liberal base is their ideology is impractical.

  • Did science try and fix its theories so it made up philosophy?

Nope, science is just a child of philosophy. What am I saying? It is a child of one of the streams of philosphy. Scientific thinking came as epistomology, positivism and skepticism gained stream among philosophical wonderers.

From this perspective, science is just a belief and a philosophy.

However, science is one of the few disciplines that was able to marginally reconcile between theory and practice. In fact, my statement is wrong. Science IS the discipline when you can marginally reconcile between theory and practice (and could be applied to anything). But science cannot be used to fix or justify something beyond itself. In fact, it cannot even fix or prove itself right or wrong. It can only be applied to things that are in its domaine of application. Philosophical theories (epistimology, positivism, metaphysics, religions) are beyond the ability of science to prove true or false. I always struggle to explain to people that science cannot and does not allow us to draw any direct conclusion about the existence of a supreme creator (God), a life after death, or why science is universal and true (in this sense, science is a tyranic, fanatic and self-proclaimed discipline whose validity is drawn from nothing else but itself) and cannot prove itself right.

Science brought reason and logic when thinking about a topic. However, reason and logic cannot be used to argue whether science is valid or not.Did science try and fix its theories so it made up philosophy?
Philosophy existed before science. Science developed after the Renaissance when philospohers realized that their experiments and observations were proving some long held theories to be wrong.

Philosophy is just an attempt to explain how things are. Science is a formalized means of testing and refining theories and hypotheses.

Nothing we currently believe is probably entirely correct, but the current body of scientific knowledge is the closest that we can approximate the truth.

At some point, there is a limit to how much we can measure and therefore observe. For example subatomic particles and galaxies outside of observable space can only be theorized, not observed.

Another interesting facet of science is that at some point, our observation of a test changes the test. The test instrument interferes with the process being tested, and no valid observations can be made.

Philosophy just means the love of knowledge. It is not something made up, but something inside of all intellectual people who have time outside the everyday struggle and wonder why things are the way they are. Your question shows that you are a philospher yourself. Keep asking questions, but question all answers.Did science try and fix its theories so it made up philosophy?
    I think you've reversed them.

Philosophy only began to explore logical thinking. Science developed after philosophy. Science includes empiricism which is not a constant across philosophy.

There is no need to ';fix'; a theory. That is just a lack of appreciation for what the scientific method.

A theory is not a fact after all.
Science is a branch of philosophy that was once called natural philosophy.

Philosophy came before science and it lead to science.

    Not the other way around.
No, philosophy came first. Everyone knows thinking is the mother of all sciences.
historical fact: science came from philosophy, as did theology.
    Huuh???
    you cant fix theorys? wth?
    Ha ha!

    Sure, why not?

What are some things I can do with a degree in Philosophy (other than law school, teaching)?

    Write.

With a philosophy degree, you could compete well with English, Journalism majors as a writer. The whole of your training has consisted in putting ideas together well, and explaining yourself.

If you do it well enough, it makes for a comfortable living, and an independent lifestyle. There's plenty of variety too, from literature to manuals, philosophers know how to take the expression of ideas to the next level.

Hope this helps. What are some things I can do with a degree in Philosophy (other than law school, teaching)?
    Think!

More and more I see a trend from ';professional degrees'; back to liberal arts. Get a well rounded degree, find a job in a field that you like any way you can, and in a few years you will find that the philosophy background will be helping you to move to the next level in the most creative and thoughtful way.

What are some things I can do with a degree in Philosophy (other than law school, teaching)?
You could philosophize. That might be made to pay by writing, being a motivational speaker, starting a cult, or being a revolutionary. Might research what Garrison Keeler has said about the job opportunities for English majors.

    What is your parenting philosophy?

What is your parenting philosophy. what do you teach your children, or what will you/ do you practise while raising your child? What is your parenting philosophy?
First, I'm a parent, not a friend. And secondly...

Benevolent dictator (on its face) is: ';...an absolute ruler who exercises his or her political power for the benefit of the people rather than exclusively for his or her own benefit.';(http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/鈥?

I'd like to think of my household as a benevolent dictatorship because it's certainly not a democracy. I honestly believe that a part of the reason families are so out of control is the democratic process. In my house, it gets done because ';I said so.'; And though sometimes obtained through mild aggression, never through repression but more celebration of obedience because my children need to understand that what I do, I do for their benefit, not for their demise. My goal as a benevolent dictator is to build up my children while establishing healthy boundaries and outlooks.

The mistake to a democracy in the world of children is because they reason as children and sometimes, when they don't get their way, they remind of just how childish they are because they act and react as children do (immature, unreasonable and selfish). And they're supposed to.

An interesting thing happens when I take my oldest daughter in public (the younger one is just a baby), and this has happened since my oldest daughter was two or so: people always comment about how polite and well-behaved she is and 9 times out of ten, will ask me how I do it. My answer is simple: ';She's what happens when you don't give them (children) too many choices.'; It's not to say she doesn't have ANY choices because she does. It's just to say that once I've said no, that's it...it's not a negotiating process. Once I set a rule, that's it and if it's bent or broken, there's an already established consequence, which varies depending on the severity of the disobedience.

As she gets older, the relationship slowly evolves into what is to ultimately become a 65/35 in favor of democracy. The logic here is as I'm teaching her, she's actually learning and so as she becomes older, she can be trusted more to make sound choices and actually think about a decision before it's made. Ideally, with age comes wisdom.

That's not to say that she won't make mistakes because Lord knows she will; it's just to say that there's a difference between a mistake and a blatently corrupt decision and either way, as she gets older, I am to loosen my grip and become more a support system than a ruler. (In younger years, I'm both as well, but rule more because at younger ages, I think it's more necessary to make decisions for them rather than with them).

Plus, let's keep it real: in the real world, as adults, we have rules and some of them are harsh. And really, we have a democratic government, but laws that are totalitarian in nature to a degree. If you commit a crime, you are charged with that crime and some predetermined penalty is applied. You murder someone and you could end up on death row (or if you have great lawyers, you may actually walk free...lol). You speed or don't wear a seatbelt and pay a fine.

Further, the penalty is based on the severity of the unlawful act. Raising children is no different in that regard. When we become adults, the law, in great part, becomes our parent because a lot of the bad or illegal decisions we tend NOT to make are done based partly on how we were raised and what we know of any penalties for certain offenses.

So, in my house, another word for benevolent dictator is ';Mommy.'; LOL.

    -FaithWhat is your parenting philosophy?
I don't know that I have a real philosophy. I try to treat them with the respect I would any other person and put their needs above whatever parenting trend is popular today. I think the best explanation can be found in my source site.
that everyday is another chance to learn something new. everywhere we go we teach our son about the world, about people, about manners, science, religion ect. I don't believe is passivle y sitting by and letting kids raise themselves!!
    My child grew up already.

I just tried to instill in him that he is loved, and special to those who love him, and that he always has us, no matter what.

He turned out GREAT! (if i may say so myself)

Enjoy this time , --these are the good old days!
Whatever I do today ( or any other day) could affect him and the person he becomes. What I do today, may affect the rest of his life.
Keep a hickory always close by.
Our parenting philosophy is to make sure our kids have lots of nurturing, love and affection, are exposed to all types of child-enriched environments, are taught respect and to respect others, have a love of people and learning and enjoy their life.

We give them freedom and boundaries with limits and want them to be loving, happy kids.

Plus we never hit. That is why they are so well behaved. They want to do what is good and right, not to be scared into behaving.

    That's us.
Children will display the treatment they receive. If you give them respect, interest and time they will reflect that. If they are subjected to controlling, dismissivness and disrespect then it will show. I have an absolute delight of a teenager to back up this philosophy.

    Will my new diet/philosophy work?

I have been trying to lose some stubborn weight for quite a while and I think I have stumbled upon the answer! I am already playing basketball everyday and I think that this new philosophy will help: if you're not hungry, don't eat. What do you all think? Will my new diet/philosophy work?
your body will not always tell you if you are hungry or not. the same goes for being thirsty, you actually need much more water than your body will tell you. Remember when your body tells you that you are hungry or thirsty, it tells you so because your organs and muscles are not functioning properly or at 100% capacity and that means it's already too late! you want to keep your body fueled, especialy if you are quite active like you say you are.

You will not lose weight by skipping meals or simply not eating. You will in fact gain more weight! let me explain. When you skip a meal, you eventually will have to eat. So that means that the meal you actually will eat will be much larger than it would otherwise be if you had eaten. Unfortunatly your body can only digest so much food at one time and so the extra food you eat converts almost entirely into fat! on top of that, when you skip a meal, your body holds on very tight to your current supplies because it thinks you are starving it. This is a survival mechanism that protect our ancestors from going extinct hundred of thousands of years ago.

If you want to lose weight, you should eat every 3 hours, 5-6 smaller meals a day. these meals should be balanced. This means:

proteins: this portion should be the size of your palm per meal (lean white meats, cottage cheese 1%, milk 1%, egg whites etc)

carbs: two clenched fists per meal ( pasta, oatmeal, fruits and veggies)

fats: one table spoon of good oils or 2 thumbs of nuts (olive oils, flaxseed oil, almonds, peanuts)

dont forget to take a multivitamin every day, this will help promote weight loss as well. It will ensure your metabolism can readily digest complex foods, and yes it does need those extra vitamins because eating a balance diet is extremly hard. even pro bodybuilders take one a day and they eat very balanced

good luckWill my new diet/philosophy work?
That works to an extent. You have to realize even when trying to lose weight you still need to maintain a healthy calorie intake. The best thing to do would be to eat a little while before exercise so you have energy to get through it without getting light headed or exhausted. Your philosphy will work well when you are sitting at home and bored. Instead of eating, find something else to do =)
It may work, but it is not the best way to do it. Eat 5 to 6 small meals a day, about every 3 hours, even if you are not hungry. If you eat the same amount you would with 3 meals a day, but spread it out over 5 to 6 meals, you will actually burn more calories. Sounds strange, but it is true.
Brilliant idea! Yes, it will work. =)
I think, for teens, No fast food, and no soda is a better approach. you're already exercising a lot, if you eat a lot its find, just watch what you do eat.
There is a line of thought that you should have _more_ meals to loose weight. According to that, you _should_ snack often. You should have at least 6 to 8 meals.

The more important part is what the others suggested - what you eat is just as or more important. Avoid fast food, refined foods, and sodas, candy and sweets.

Ad some weight lifting to your exercise, besides the aerobics of basketball.
billyboy is on the right track, eat 5-6 small meals. What happens when you stop eating is you're metabolism stops. You want to keep you're metabolism going, you're metabolism burns fat. Thats why you need to eat about 5-6 smalls meals a day every 3 hours.
    would work if do it.
